Our Visit to the Mountain

It was a beautiful day as we made our way up Mount Lemon. The winding roads took us past several scenic vistas, and we couldn’t help but stop to take in the breathtaking views. The desert stretched out below us, and we could see for miles in every direction.

One of the several scenic vistas we stopped at along the way

As we continued our drive, we noticed some signs of damage from wild fires. Charred trees and burnt underbrush lined the road in some areas, a reminder of the power of nature. Despite the damage, the mountain was still beautiful, and we were in awe of its rugged beauty.

We arrived at the ski resort and decided to take the scenic lift up to the very top. The view from the top was absolutely stunning, and we spent some time hiking around and taking it all in. We decided to take a short hike to explore the area and get our bearings. The hike was more challenging than we anticipated due to the heat and being light headed from the elevation, but the views from the top were worth the effort. We could see for miles in every direction, and it felt like we were on top of the world.

On the way down, we stopped at the village to explore the shops and grab some snacks. We found a secluded spot at a scenic vista and stopped to have a picnic. We spread out a blanket on the ground and enjoyed a leisurely lunch of sandwiches and fruit. As we ate, we admired the surrounding scenery and took in the fresh mountain air.

This is an absolutely gorgeous and must see location when visiting the Tucson area. This was my third visit to the mountain and each time I found something new to see and explore. We will definitely be visiting again.

Whenever I travel I buy a stuffed animal for my daughter and take pictures of it in the scenery. This moose was purchased at the top of Mt. Lemmon from the Ski Resort gift shop.
