Our Visit to Ausable Chasm
It was a hot summer day when we set out on our journey to Ausable Chasm. We had heard so much about this natural attraction and were excited to finally visit it. We were camping in Colchester, VT and took a short ferry ride across Lake Champlain to get to the chasm.
We arrived at the park and got our tickets and made our way to the rock climbing tour.
As we listened to the safety briefing and got equipped with our gear, we could feel the anticipation building. The first part of the climb was intimidating, with the chasm looming below us and the rushing water and jagged rocks adding to the intensity. Several people in our group decided to turn back, but we were determined to continue.

As we made our way along the cliff edges, we were in awe of the beauty of the chasm. The towering cliffs, unique rock formations, and cascading waterfalls were breathtaking. The rock climbing tour was challenging, but also incredibly fun and rewarding.
After we completed the tour, we hiked down the wooden paths of the chasm to do some tubing. It was a perfect way to relax and take in the beauty of the chasm from a different perspective. We stopped multiple times along the way to swim from the shoreline and enjoy the cool water.
One of the times when we were stopped and swimming, I was standing on a ledge that was just under the water. I accidentally stepped off and went completely under water, phone and all.
At the end of tubing down the river, there is a pick up point where a bus took us back to the main entrance of the park.
As the day came to a close, we were already planning our next visit to Ausable Chasm and wanting to bring our daughters once they are a bit older. It was an unforgettable experience that we will always treasure.
